Area Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 cars have been marked with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Vehicles, exterior walls and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they announced in a release.
Police report they were notified during the night on Wednesday, when a individual observed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish fluid.
The substance had been applied in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.
Police then found numerous other smeared automobiles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under legislation outlawing the public display of Nazi symbols.
Police report preliminary tests suggest the fluid was likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no lead as to its origin; officials are currently not informed of any injuries in connection with the occurrence," they added.
Local authorities stated they were trying "to solve the incident" and have requested to the community for information.
A senior official commented the attack rendered him speechless and required to be solved rapidly.
"This act affects the center of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right violent incident five years ago," he posted on social media, mentioning the killing of nine victims by a shooter targeting individuals of foreign heritage in five years prior.
